Contraindications

Applying the device to damaged skin (or previously injured skin – biopsy, excision) is forbidden.
When analyzing an injury, we advise the user not to use the device if:
- The lesion has been previously traumatized (excised / biopsied);
- The skin around the lesion is not intact (open sores, ulcers, bleeding);
- The lesion is under the nail;
- The injury is very close to a (visible) scarred area (s);
- The lesion and the surrounding skin (<5 cm) contain foreign matter (eg marker, tattoo, sunscreen, skin cream, powder, etc.);
- The lesion is surrounded or covered by a significant amount of hair;
- The user has very dark skin (skin type V and VI according to the Fitzpatrick scale) or the skin is sunburned;
- The lesion is in a skin fold or is otherwise covered.
Risk factors
When analyzing an injury, certain risks are identified. Below is a list of situations and a recommended course of action for each:

Image quality too low to analyze | The user is notified by a dialog message that the image should be retaken in higher quality |
The user is unable to provide adequate lighting conditions for the image to be viewable | In this case, the taking of the photo should be postponed until the right conditions are available |
The user wants to take a picture of an injury to a part of his body that he cannot reach | In this case it is necessary to request the assistance of another person or their doctor |
